The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Weatherization and Intergovernmental Program (WIP) provides financial support and technical assistance to states, local governments, and municipal utilities through the projects it manages. WIP does not provide financial assistance directly to individuals or companies. All grants for WIP-funded projects are managed by the DOE Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) Project Management Center.
WIP Grant Programs

Weatherization Assistance Program Allocation Formula to the States
DOE provides grants to the states to manage their weatherization programs. Weatherization services are provided to low-income families through a network of more than 900 local weatherization service providers.
State Energy Program Funding to the States
DOE provides grants to the states to manage their energy efficiency programs.
Tribal Energy Program Funding Opportunities
DOE provides grants to Indian Tribal Governments to install renewable energy generation on tribal lands.
Renewable Energy Production Incentive
DOE provides incentive payments to municipal utilities for renewable power generation, depending on yearly Congressional allocations.
