Contact: Kerry Cordray

Phone: (573) 526-4220

5:00 - 9:00 p.m.
During the Summer of 2008, a series of three events will be held to enable interested persons to learn about Missouri's wind energy resources, meet others with similar interests, and consider what needs to happen to assure the state's wind energy potential best serves the needs of Missourians.

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources' Energy Center plans to use video conferencing to share presentations and panel discussion among three panels as a means to expand understanding of the state's wind energy potential, and explore the challenges involved in developing this native renewable energy resource.

The wind energy forums will address utility scale wind development issues, including:

  • Opportunities for, and barriers to, wind resource development
  • Utility operations and transmission needs
  • Landowner concerns
  • Economic development potential
  • Environmental, wildlife and aesthetic considerations
  • Discussion of how to best use the state's wind energy potential.

You can participate in person via video conference in one of nine cities or view the video from your own computer. Please see the Web site for full details and an agenda.
